There will be a tipping point, where many folks who voted for the current administration will quickly feel the effects of what’s happening. And what’s happening now is unprecedented. Through Social Security, through Medicaid, through the threat or dissolving of whatever part of government you may rely on or your families rely on. The overwhelming and obvious greed and hate that isn’t unique to one party but that is obviously driving the current agenda - it will cut closer and closer to our daily lives.

I ask without judgment that if the current state of things is not what you hoped or believed, that if the actions of this administration are making you fearful for the state of our democracy (which it very well should), that you hold your electeds accountable. The ones we voted for, the ones we didn’t vote for - it doesn’t matter. If something doesn’t feel right, or if their decisions/indecisions are having a direct impact on your life or future - take action.

What matters is living by our values and holding folks accountable. We aren’t as divided as media, politicians, etc. want us to believe. We want to care for our families, our communities, our future, our democracy. We gather with our families and our communities to break bread, share stories, care for our loved ones - we have a common thread of care that binds us, and we should never take that for granted.

If you are confused and looking for a way to get involved or talk about what’s going on - no matter who you voted for or what letter you put next to your name - please reach out. Let’s talk. This is no longer about politics. It’s about what kind of life we want to live and what’s worth fighting for.
